December 5 - Mobile CHRISTOPHER T. CONTE is a shareholder in the Mobile law firm of Helmsing, Leach, Herlong, Newman & Rouse, P.C. Mr. Conte has concentrated his practice in the areas of bankruptcy, general litigation, eminent domain, creditors rights, insurance defense and commercial litigation since 2003. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the American Bar Association, the Mobile County ( Alabama ) Bar Association, the Jackson County ( Mississippi ) Bar Association, the Alabama State Bar Association and the Mississippi State Bar Association. Mr. Conte earned his B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from the University of South Alabama and his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Cumberland School of Law. GREGORY M. FRIEDLANDER is the principal of Gregory M. Friedlander & Associates, P.C., in Mobile. Mr. Friedlander has been practicing bankruptcy law for more than 20 years and also practices in the area of intellectual property law. He is a regular speaker on bankruptcy matters before consumer groups and has lectured on intellectual property law to various professional organizations. Mr. Friedlander is a member of the Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Section of the Alabama State Bar and the Bankruptcy Section of the Mobile Bar Association. He also is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, The Mississippi Bar and the U.S. Patent Bar, which allows him to practice in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. CHRISTOPHER KERN is the sole practitioner of Christopher Kern Attorney at Law in Mobile, where he practices bankruptcy and commercial law. He earned his B.S. degree from Spring Hill College and his J.D. degree from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. Mr. Kern is a frequent lecturer to professional groups on bankruptcy topics. He is a member of the American and the Mobile bar associations, the Alabama State Bar, the American Bankruptcy Institute, and the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees. Mr. Kern is a former member of the Panel of Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustees for the Southern District of Alabama. DAVID R. QUITTMEYER is a member of the Mobile office of Hand Arendall LLC. He has a broad range of experience in commercial and corporate matters. Mr. Quittmeyer is equally at home in business and transactional work and in litigation. He advises lenders regularly on foreclosure and redemption rights and procedures. Mr. Quittmeyer has lectured frequently on these topics. In 2003, Governor Bob Riley appointed him to a four-year term as a special administrative law judge for the State of Alabama. In this capacity, he serves when called upon as hearing officer for disputes involving Alabama's Health Planning and Development Agency. Mr. Quittmeyer earned his B.A. degree, with high distinction, from the University of Virginia and his J.D. degrees from the University of Virginia School of Law. December 7 - Montgomery CHARLES W. EDMONDSON is a private practitioner in Montgomery, Alabama and is a frequent speaker at seminars on real property related issues. In his practice, he has represented a variety of litigants, ranging from individuals to title insurance companies and corporations, concerning all facets of title discrepancies, mortgage issues and land use disputes. Mr. Edmondson focuses his practice on real property, title law, real estate litigation, landlord tenant law, corporate law and probate. PHILLIPS is of counsel to the Montgomery law firm of Miller Hamilton Snider & Odom LLC. Ms. Phillips has concentrated her practice in the areas of bankruptcy, creditors rights, foreclosures, restructuring and workouts, collection law and commercial litigation since 1996. She is a 2011 graduate of the Alabama State Bar Association's Leadership Forum. Ms. Phillips has lectured to various professionals on topics relating to debt collection and fair debt collection practices . She earned her B.S. degree, cum laude, at the University of Alabama and her J.D. degree at the University of Alabama School of Law. Ms. Phillips is a member of the Alabama State Bar, the Birmingham Bar Association and the American Bar Association. ROBERT RASH is a sole practitioner in Montgomery, Alabama, where he practices in the areas of securities, bankruptcy, tax, real estate and foreclosures. He is a CPA licensed in Alabama and North Carolina, and a licensed real estate broker in Alabama. Mr. Rash has lectured on securities law to attorneys and has lectured at Cumberland School of Law and Wallace State College.
