RONALD W. FLOWERS JR. is a partner in the Labor & Employment Section of the law firm of Burr & Forman LLP. In his practice, Mr. Flowers represents management in all aspects of labor and employment law, including representing clients in class and individual plaintiff litigation before federal and state courts, in arbitration, and before administrative tribunals. He regularly advises and represents clients regarding issues under the Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Titles I and III of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the National Labor Relations Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the WARN Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, USERRA, and various other federal and state statutes and regulations. Mr. Flowers represents employers in investigations by and in litigation against OSHA, the NLRB, and the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor. He advises companies undergoing union campaigns and dealing with union representatives. During recent years, Mr. Flowers has defended employers in countless collective and individual FLSA overtime cases. He has conducted seminar presentations on a variety of labor and employment law topics for industry groups, bar sections, local employer organizations, and clients. Mr. Flowers regularly conducts training for managers and supervisors on labor and employment issues. He was named a Rising Star in 2010 by Alabama Super Lawyers. He is a member of the Labor & Employment Law Section of the Alabama State Bar and the American Bar Association, and is admitted to practice before the Northern, Middle, and Southern districts of Alabama and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Flowers received his B.S. degree in commerce in 1999 from the University of Virginia and his J.D. degree in 2002 from Duke University School of Law. During law school, he served on the editorial board of the Duke Law Journal. VICTORIA J. FRANKLIN-SISSON is an attorney in the Birmingham office of the law firm of Jones Walker, LLP, where her primary areas of practice are labor and employment law, appellate practice, creditor/debtors rights and mediation. Ms. Franklin-Sisson is a certified mediator. She frequently lectures on all types of law including employment issues. Ms. Franklin-Sisson is a member of the Alabama State Bar and the Birmingham and American bar associations. She is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Alabama, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. She received her A.B. degree, with honors, from Harvard University and J.D. degree from Duke University. KATHRYN MORRIS WILLIS is a partner at Burr & Forman LLP, where she practices in the firm's Labor & Employment Law Section. Ms. Willis has delivered presentations on hiring issues, disability management, FMLA and workers' compensation. She regularly advises employers on leave issues, employee counseling, and policies and procedures. Ms. Willis is the co-author of a chapter addressing employer recordkeeping obligations in the 2004 supplement to BNA's Occupational Safety and Health Law. She is a member of the Alabama State Bar and the U.S. District Court's Northern, Middle, and Southern districts of Alabama. In addition, Ms. Willis was recognized as a Rising Star by Alabama Super Lawyers in 2011 in labor and employment law. She serves as a board member of the Birmingham Bar Association's Women Lawyers Section and has served as co-chairman of the Programs Committee. Ms. Willis is also the co-vice president for Legal and Legislative Affairs for BSHRM. She is a member of the Young Lawyers Division of the Birmingham Bar Association and the Alabama Women in Business. Ms. Willis has served as a Better Basics volunteer. She earned her B.S. degree, summa cum laude, in 1999 from the University of Alabama and her J.D. degree, cum laude, in 2002 from the University of Georgia.
