ERIKA E. MALMEN is an attorney in the Perkins Coie LLP Boise office, and a member of the firm's nationwide Energy, Environment, and Resources Practice Group. She focuses her practice on environmental, energy, water and natural resources law; representing municipal, mining, forestry, and other natural resources-based clients in local, state and federal permitting processes and environmental litigation. Ms. Malmen also has experience in real estate, land use, and government relations. She began her career as legal counsel for the Idaho Office of Species Conservation, primarily focused on ESA matters. After that, Ms. Malmen worked at the Department of the Interior Solicitor's Office in Washington, D.C., before joining Perkins Coie LLP in Boise.

ROBERT A. MAYNARD is the managing partner of the Boise office of the Perkins Coie LLP law firm, and a member of the firm's nationwide Energy, Environment, and Resources Practice Group. He has dealt with Endangered Species Act issues throughout his 30 year career, beginning with participation as a law student in the briefing for the U.S. Supreme Court TVA v. Hill (snail darter) litigation, and since then as a federal attorney for the U.S. Forest Service as well as in private practice for land owners and developers; forest, mining, energy, and other industry clients; trade associations; and state and local government agencies. His work includes habitat conservation planning, strategic compliance advice and permitting assistance for various projects, legislation, rulemaking, and lawsuits, and matters in Idaho, Alaska, other western and southern states and Washington, D.C. Mr. Maynard graduated magna cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School and obtained his undergraduate degree in forestry and wildlife from Virginia Tech.
