LEONARD DEUTCHMAN is general counsel and managing partner for LDiscovery, LLC: Legal and Technology Consulting, formerly known as "LegisDiscovery," a digital forensics, electronic discovery and legal consulting firm with offices in Philadelphia, Washington, D.C. and Chicago. He advises clients regarding both the legal and technical aspects of data preservation policies, electronic discovery obligations and how best to meet them, and digital forensic investigations. Mr. Deutchman writes the monthly column on digital forensics and electronic discovery, "GeekSpeak," in the Pennsylvania Law Weekly, and has provided numerous CLEs on electronic discovery and digital forensics through LDiscovery, as well as for the Pennsylvania Bar Association, National Business Institute and other organizations. Along with LDiscovery's Brian Wolfinger, he has created, and teaches, a digital forensics curriculum for Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia. Mr. Deutchman came to LDiscovery after 20 years as a prosecutor in the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office, the last seven as chief of the Economic Crime Unit, which he expanded to become the Economic and Cyber Crime Unit; that expansion entailed construction of a computer forensics laboratory and the training of more than a dozen detectives and prosecutors. He has investigated and prosecuted virtually every kind of economic and computer crime as both an assistant district attorney and a specially appointed assistant United States attorney. Mr. Deutchman is one of the country's most sought-after teachers of investigators of computer crime and fraud, having helped to design, as well as having taught, several courses for the National and Pennsylvania District Attorney's Associations, IACIS and others. He has investigated and prosecuted numerous cases of trademark counterfeiting, particularly in the area of DVD and CD "piracy," and has lectured on the subject as well. Mr. Deutchman also has authored dozens of pieces of legislation, dealing with economic crime, computer crime, electronic surveillance and other areas. He is a 1985 graduate of Rutgers-Newark School of Law. Mr. Deutchman is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and pursued his doctorate at the University of California-Berkeley before attending law school. ROBERT J. FOSTER is a partner in the law firm of Reger Rizzo & Darnall LLP, where he practices in the areas of litigation, including personal injury, truck litigation, employment disputes, insurance contract litigation, insurance defense liability, subrogation, general liability, business and appellate work. He is an adjunct professor at Temple University, where he teaches legal and ethical issues in sports and recreation. Mr. Foster has been a frequent speaker and online moderator on advanced issues in legal technology, trial practices, bad faith litigation and legal research and writing. He earned his B.A. degree, with distinction and honors, from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University. EDWARD J. KELBON JR. is a partner with Reger Rizzo & Darnall LLP, where his practice is concentrated in state and federal civil litigation. He has defended national corporations in litigation concerning products liability, toxic tort, property damage, catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, employment discrimination and trade disparagement. Mr. Kelbon also has represented insurance companies in a variety of areas, including insurance coverage and bad faith. He has additionally represented companies and individuals in various cases including, securities fraud, breach of contract, tortious interference with contract, civil conspiracy, ERISA claims, partnership disputes, real estate disputes, highway design, land development and Section 1983 Actions. Mr. Kelbon has tried cases in the federal and state courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He earned his B.S. degree from Drexel University and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Temple University School of Law. Mr. Kelbon has spoken at lectures for National Business Institute on his areas of expertise. He is a member of the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel, Defense Research Institute and the Justinian Society. JOSEPH R. LOVERDI is a senior attorney at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC, where he focuses his practice on environmental/mass tort litigation and antitrust litigation. Mr. Loverdi also has significant experience litigating cases in both state and federal court involving breaches of contract, real estate, construction defects, consumer fraud and products liability. His recent representative matters include representing a multi-national waste management and disposal corporation in putative class action litigation concerning alleged groundwater contamination and in cost recovery actions under CERCLA and the New Jersey Spill Act; representing a national integrated pharmacy services provider in litigation involving the termination of a lease for a proposed retail location in Pennsylvania; representing an international amateur athlete in consumer fraud and products liability litigation against a New Jersey-based manufacturer of nutritional supplements. Prior to joining Buchanan, Mr. Loverdi was special counsel with a Philadelphia-based law firm, where he provided counsel to an array of mid- to large-size corporations in the real estate, construction, transportation, banking and finance, telecommunications, education, petroleum, food service and corrugated paperboard industries. From 1996 to 1997, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Joseph H. Rodriguez of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. Mr. Loverdi is admitted to practice in the state courts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania; the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey; U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania; and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit. He is an active member of the Camden County (New Jersey) Bar Association, and has been appointed to serve on its Awards and Scholarships, Federal Bench-Bar, Civil Practice and Commercial Litigation Committees. Mr. Loverdi also is active in the Rutgers University School of Business Alumni Association, has been a guest lecturer at the School, and was a member of the Rutgers University Deans' Scholarship Golf Tournament Committee.
