Whether this is your first case involving medical records, or you are an experienced professional, having a working knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology can only make your job easier. Explore the various bodily systems and common ways in which disease or other disturbances affect them, so you can better review medical records and help to prepare trial exhibits.

DONNA CLEMENTS works at Washington University Medical School as an Infusion Nurse. She previously worked as a legal nurse consultant and paralegal with Fox Galvin, LLC, in St. Louis, Missouri. Ms. Clements has nine years of experience in workers' compensation and medical malpractice for both plaintiff and defense. She has been practicing for 30 years, practicing for 22 of those years in the areas of cardiothoracic ICU/PACU/cardiac cath lab. Ms. Clements earned her associate’s degree in nursing from Belleville Area College, graduated, with department honors, from Webster University with a B.A. degree in legal studies and paralegal certification, and completed her legal nurse consulting certification. She previously held the position as Director-at-Large of Education for the St. Louis Association of Legal Assistants where she is also a member of SLALA . She serves as a member of Southwestern Illinois College Paralegal Advisory Board. Ms. Clements teaches an ICU case analysis and Pediatric case analysis class for the St. Louis Community College Legal Nurse Consulting program, as well as teaching a medical malpractice and nursing documentation seminar at Southwestern Illinois College and Lutheran School of Nursing.
