GREGORY E. KORSTAD is a shareholder in the law firm of Larkin Hoffman Daly & Lindgren Ltd., where he represents public and private clients on environmental issues, including acquisition and development of environmentally sensitive properties, environmental compliance, auditing and management, Superfund liability defense, air emissions compliance and waste recycling, and disposal issues. Mr. Korstad has also defended corporations and individuals in environmental criminal matters. He has extensive experience in environmental review, assisting clients through the complex maze of state and federal regulation governing Environmental Impact Statements and Environmental Assessments. Mr. Korstad frequently works with endangered species protection and historic preservation. He represents unique, regulated industries in permitting and compliance issues. Mr. Korstad has performed a key role in permitting and regulatory compliance matters for new and emerging technologies, including solid waste composting, waste to energy productions, telecommunications facilities, wind turbine and landfill gas electric generation facilities, and bio-diesel production. Representative projects include solid waste facilities, aggregate production, mining, asphalt plants, feedlots, wind conversion facilities, and telecommunications towers. He earned his B.A. degree from Gustavus Adolphus College and his J.D. degree from Drake University Law School. Mr. Korstad is a Minnesota Rule 114 Qualified Neutral and a Minnesota State Bar Association Board Certified Real Property Specialist. He serves on the Aggregate Committee for the Aggregate and Ready Mix Association of Minnesota, and is a member of the Hennepin County Bar Association (Environmental Law Committee), the Industrial Council on Environmental Management, the Minnesota State Bar Association (Environment Natural Resources and Energy Section, Governing Council, LawPAC Trustee), the National Solid Wastes Management Association, the Plymouth Community Foundation (Board of Directors), the Twin West Chamber of Commerce (Chair-Elect, Board of Directors 2010-2011), and the United States Power Squadrons (National Law Officer). CARL A. SINDERBRAND is a partner in the law firm of Axley Brynelson, LLP. His practice focuses on environmental, construction and government regulatory matters. Mr. Sinderbrand regularly assists clients in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, representation before administrative agencies, alternative dispute resolution, and litigation. He has lectured on numerous occasions on a variety of environmental and construction matters, such as water law, construction contracting practices and claims, administrative procedures, and alternative dispute resolution. Additionally, Mr. Sinderbrand has written articles relating to environmental dispute resolution, radioactive waste transportation, and various environmental and construction issues. He is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, and currently chairs its Environmental Law Section Board of Directors. Mr. Sinderbrand is an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association. He also serves on the board of environmental and other public interest organizations. Mr. Sinderbrand has been repeatedly named to Wisconsin Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America and, in 2010, he was named one of Wisconsin's Top Fifty Lawyers. He earned his B.A. degree from Oberlin College and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School. PETER A. TOMASI is a partner at the law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP, where he practices in the areas of environmental permitting and environmental litigation. Mr. Tomasi has further experience with general civil, commercial, and intellectual property litigation. Some of his recent experience includes the representation of multiple clients in citizen suits brought under the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act; assisting with defense of challenges to the adequacy of the application for a wetlands permit under Chapter 30 of the Wisconsin Statutes, and with challenges to an application for a wetlands dredging permit required by Section 404 of the Clean Water Act; experience with the various requirements of state and federal regulations governing utilities; assisting a Fortune 500 transportation company in developing its first carbon management and climate change strategy; and advising clients regarding environmental and regulatory concerns relating to the construction, and operation of renewable energy projects including biomass, solar, and wind energy. Mr. Tomasi earned his B.A. degree, cum laude, from the University of Chicago, and his M.E.M. degree and J.D. degree, cum laude, from Duke University. He is a member of the American Bar Association (Environment, Energy, and Resources Section) and the State Bar of Wisconsin (Board Member, Environmental Law Section), as well as the Wisconsin Legislative Committee on Domestic Biofuels.
